About SUSAN

SUSAN is a 100% volunteer-based organization. We commit ourselves to each animal that we Step Up to Save and promise to not only see each animal through adoption but to remain a resource for our animals as well as our adopters once our animals have left our care.

SUSAN works within the community to end animal suffering and pet overpopulation through spay/neuter education, direct TNR, work with municipal shelters and animal control agencies and support our community members through pet food and supply donations whenever possible.

Our Mission

We Believe that there is a home for all animals and that we as humans have a responsibility to end pet overpopulation through responsible spay and neuter practices. Step Up to Save Animal Network strives to provide community education and work with municipal shelters to make every animal wanted.

Who is Susan?

Named for our founder, Cydny Grey’s mother Susan Clay whose love for animals was truly unsurpassed. Susan rebuked society’s view of animals as less than, referring to them exclusively as ‘fur people’ to prove her point. The drive of our organization will be to honor her memory through community education, support of municipal shelters, spay neuter and a foster based adoption program.
